A good example of a folding knife from Corsica or Provincial France.
The example measures 40cms open, 21.5cms closed and has a blade length of 19cms.
It is a single pin locking type with the blade secured by a back spring.
The blade is well made, with a full point and good cutting edge. The faces are simply decorated with a repeated tooling motif and a snake like fashion.
The hilt is comprised of horn grip slabs inlaid with twisted brass wire and bound in brass strapping. Decorative brass collars bind each end with the base finished as a pipe tamper.
A good seldom seen knife type.
