A good solid Chinese fighting dao.

This example measures 36.5cms long and has a blade length 25.5cms long. The form is known throughout Chinese mainland and islands in the 19th century.
It is a concealable size and of the type used in the Tong gang wars of the early 20th century in the USA.
The hardwood bulbous grip is fluted to all sides and is solid. It is bound in brass collars at either end and has a thick oval pommel and oval cross guard.
The blade if of an unusual profile in that there is a raised section 7cms from the tip. There is rectangular fuller to each side.
It has a good cutting edge and the tip is strong.
