A very rare but known Jambiya type.

These full sized daggers likely originate in Oman when viewing the design and silverwork. Little in known about them but perhaps these are the working knives of the more wealthy?

This fine example measures 33.5cms tall in its sheath, 33cms tall out and has a blade length of 19.5cms.
The hilt is thick silver bound in a large variety of silver panels and various wire twists. Atop of this large thick grip there is a castle like spire.
The blade very strong and ridged with tall medial ridges and very sharp edges.
The sheath is leather over timber bound by 5 broad plaited leather sections and a leather belt stitched around the scabbard, secured in place by stitching to the rear.

A rarely seen type of high quality and showing signs of age and use.
