A good English regimental sword.

In its scabbard this sword measures 101cms long in its scabbard. Out is is just under 98cms long with a blade length of 83.5cms.
The plated hilt remains in good condition for its age with only minor blemished throughout. The chagrin grip shows minor losses and the copper grip binding is complete and intact.
The blade shows a pleasant age patina throughout and is free from rust and damage.
Its surfaces are etched throughout. To the right face is a flaming grenade over a cannon that sits amongst vine motifs whilst the left face shows angel wings with lightning bolts and "1st Cumberland Art Vols". The bade of the left face shows the mark of H L Soulsby and the right carries the proof plug.
The leather field scabbard retains its brass throat and is in good condition throughout with the exception of cracks in the lower half of the scabbard, nearing a break but still together.

A good well marked artillery Volunteers regiment sword.
