A good old long handled fighting sword, Thailand.

This Thai Daab measures just over 97cms long in its scabbard.
Out of the scabbard it is 86.5cms long with a blade length of 53cms long.
The handle is bound in individual rattan straps with all but a few present and all very firm and tightly in place.
The blade is a very sharp fighting type that is thick through the base with fine distal taper through to the tip and cutting edge. Its surfaces show light pitting to places and old grind marks, aspects that could be greatly improved with a polish.
The scabbard is timber or bamboo bound with rattan with most appearing to be intact. It retains a fine old and original suspension baldric.

A good long fighting type.
