Old Thai fighting sword

A old fighting sword from the Thai Lao regions of South East Asia.

In its scabbard it is 86cms long, out it is 69.5cms long with a blade length of 42.5cm.
The Hilt is bound in rattan with signs of traditional old replaced binding to the fore grip. The pommel is capped with a copper spacer as is seen on many different sword types in the region.
The blade is thick at the base and shows good distal taper through to the tip and cutting edge. The tip of the blade carries a deep chip.
The scabbard is timber bound in rattan and it retains and old red baldric

A good well priced fighting sword.
