An extremely rare Kordofan knife with an exception large rhino horn hilt.

This very rare long knife or short sword of on unusually large proportions for the type. It is without a sheath and measures 62cms long with a blade length of 47cms.
The large domed pommel 10cms across with the ears dropping 6cms from the pommel end. The waist of the hilt is faceted, where is again broadens to where it meets the blade.
The blade is fine, double edged and engraved to both faces. The engravings show incised lines following the blades profile and moon like motifs to the first half of the blade.

A very rare and fine quality find, seldom ever seen.
