A good Japanese Katana.

This sword measures 89.5cms long in its scabbard, out it is 87.5cms long and carries a blade that is 67cms long to the Tsuba.
The sword is in sound condition throughout and carries a quality blade.
Its hilt would benefit from a re wrap and a replacement Kashira in either iron or horn. The Fuchi is steel with scalloped and incised surfaces and two more seppa would be required for a perfect tight fit.
The Tsuba is iron with chiselled surfaces which display some pitting.
The blade is unsigned but of a high standard of manufacture. The Habaki is covered in gold leaf, the blade has a high back edge, a narrow raised ridge line and a clear Yokote. A clear harmon is present on the right ride of the forte.
The scabbard is intact and covered with porous looking lacquer.

A good old blade and fittings that would grade up well.
