Bangkung, a very rare Moro sword

This sword measures 65cms long and carries a 47cms long blade.
The hilt his a finely grained timber of rare and unusual form. The grip is bound in a traditional method and has a simple low quality silver or alloy collar. The end of the pommel has a minor loss as seen in the images provided.
The blade is hollow forged. It has a bevelled cutting edge and a bevelled back edge. At the base it is just under 3cms across and widens to over 5cms through the middle.

A good example of a very rare sword type.
