A fine Canary Island knife, named, dated and with its original sheath.

This example measure 24cms long in its sheath, 23cms out and has a blade length of 14.5cms.
The Canary Island knife's grip is a very detailed composition of stacked horn, bone and brass spacers with its horn sections inlaid with brass to form geometric patterns, patterns that are reputed to be individual to their makers and the guilds in which they were made. The grip is secured between detailed brass ends and peened tight against the bolster.
The blade single edged leaf shaped blade is signed and dated to the upper left face of the forte. To the upper right face are traditional pin punch designs.
The knife is found with its original leather sheath.

A fine example of the type.
