A very rare knife from Bukhara.

In its sheath, this pichoq measures just under 31cms. Out it is 25cms long with a 15cms long blade.
The grip slabs are Rhino horn. The slabs are pinned through the tang and are dressed in a silver and Niello grip strap and bolster. At the bolster, two of its original turquoise stones remain.

The blade is in an as found untouched condition. Despite being out of polish, there are clear Central Asian Wootz patterns seen in the blades faces. The blade is of typical form for the type, being single edged, a narrow fuller below the spine and an upswept tip.
The sheath is leather over a timber core and it is dressed in thick silver fittings with the front displaying fine chiselled and Nielloed surfaces.

A fine and rare Central Asian knife.
