A fine fighting sword from Burma.

This sword measures 82cms long in its scabbard, 79cms long with a blade length of 59cms.
The hilt is a solid timber core with ray skin grip that is secured by many dozens of very fine brass tacks. The grip is enclosed but silver fittings to the fore-grip and pommel with the fore-grip having a beaded and wirework design before a flared guard like protrusion.
The blade is a thick well weighted fighting type with thick silver designs to the blade, an aspect reserved for those of standing and wealth.
The designs are mostly floral to the faces with three Chinthe or dragon motifs dividing the designs. To the spine are floral and geometric designs.
The scabbard is a native hardwood, showing crack cracks and some minor losses. The halves are bound with silver fittings.

A fine fighting sword in the hand with a keen edge and visually impressive.
