A very good and large Spanish folding knife, Navaja.

This oversized fighting knife measures 77cms long when opened and 40cms long when closed.
The handle is very well selected black, blonde and green polished Bulls horn which has been polished and dressed in traditional engraved, rolled brass ends.
It is interesting to note that the craftsman who made this Navaja has only inlaid one side of the handle with three disc that look to be targets or bullseyes and is the same face as the enamelled blade decorations.
The back spring is simple in appearance and without any file decoration and holds the blade locked as part of the 10 tooth ratchet.
The long leaf shaped blade is without a valour motto or engraved surfaces but does carry very bold filed decorations to one face which have been filled with red enamel. It is almost as if the cutler intended these decorations to appear as vicious teeth or bloodied Navaja wounds.

A very large and dangerous 19th century Spanish fighting Navaja.
