A good midsized Jian, a size of this type seldom seen.

This simple but efficient example measures 77.5cms long in its scabbard, 71cms long out and has a blade length of 56cms long to the very base beneath the opened mouth guard.
The form is of a well known jian type, well balanced and in good condition for its age. There is movement to the guard that could easily be fixed with a correct grip re-wrap to press the collar against the guard.
The blade is engraved with a dragon to one face and Taoist script to the reverse. A narrow fuller intersects the small seven star inlay that sits approx mid way along the blade.
