A rare knife called a Sangi, Bagobo culture, Philippines.

A most unusual and rarely seen knife, complete with a pierced bronze sheath and suspension chain, typically reserved for status within the culture.
The Sangi are a utility knife, used for both day-to-day use and harvesting rice. They range from simple examples with timber handles and woven sheaths, through to the most exquisitely cast bronze handles and sheaths, and always with small bells attached to both. Within this variation of styles, there are also mixed examples with bronze hilts in woven sheath and as this example is, a fine Bunti wood handle in a decorative bronze sheath.
