A fine Datu quality Kris with an engraved and tri-coloured metal inlaid blade.

In the scabbard, this Kris measures 70cms long, out is it 69cms, and its blade measures 64cms long.

Overall this is a fine keris throughout. With a good original scabbard to accompany the Kris, which is becoming a rare thing to obtain, this example presents very well. The base of the sampir displays small decorative carved details and coloured rattan to the stem is a nice touch, perhaps meant to allude to an equally colourful blade within with its copper, brass, and silver inlay.

The hilt has survived the ravages of time with only the smallest loss to the front lower beak section of the pommel. The original fine cord grip wrapping has survived mostly intact as seen in the images presented.

The blade too has been equally well preserved, retaining a bright steel finish and only minor losses to the inlay.
