A fine and complete Malaysian Keris Selit.

This Terengganu keris measures 36cms in its sheath, 33.5 out, and has a blade length of 25cms.

A fine dress piece for formal attire, this Selit would date from the 1920s, and has been very well preserved.
Whilst not unknown, it is unusual to find a Javanese blade in such dress, and through conversations with colleagues, I suspect, as they do, that given the blades small size and specifically the 13 luk count which is no easy thing to squeeze in to 25cms, that this was a heirloom blade and could be considered a presentation gift for a man of standing in local society.

A fine rare example that would benefit from having the dress cleaned and oiled, and perhaps, if desired, a pendokok added to the ensemble.
