A good mid 20th century Hmong dagger.

An interesting knife of the type seen in the book by Elaine and Paul Lewis, Peoples of the Golden Triangle: Six Tribes in Thailand.
The knife measures 26cms long in its sheath 22.5cms out and has a blade length of 14.5cms long.
The grip is bone and has a pot metal collar and guard.
The blade is distal tapered to the cutting edge and tip.
In profile it has a deep forward curving belly and a needle tip. Each face is decorated in native motifs throughout.
The sheath is timber bound in pot metal strapping and a modern nylon twine as a suspension loop.
A good example of the type, comparable to the published examples.
