A very rare Dah or Daab of exceptional quality and condition.

This Dah from the Yunnan regions of Southern China measures 75.5cms in its silver clad scabbard, is 72cms out and has a blade length of 42cms.
The hilt is dressed in silver sheet and wire, done to create some of the finest work of its type seen on a sword from this area.
Equally, the timber scabbard is dressed in very fine and refined silver work with the maker signing his work at the base of the scabbard.
The blade is a finely forged tpye with several unusual aspects being the blade profile being a type and tip not typically seen in swords dressed in this manner, but more importantly, the presence of 3 inlaid plugs at the tip of the blade. Whilst plugs of brass are found throughout many cultures, this arrangement and placement at the tip is most unusual.

A very fine and rare sword of very high quality for the region.
