A good rare Keris Tajong from Southern Thailand,

This Keris measures 55.5cms tall in its sheath. Out it is 44cms long with a blade length just under 36cms long.
The hilt is a very finely carved example which is carved from very fine timber and remains in good condition throughout. The hilt has been embellished in a samrit or suassa alloy to its jaws bone and eyes. The beak was once also adorned with the same metal covering which is now lost. The hilt sits atop of a simple hilt cup made from the same alloy.
The blade is a non traditional type from the Indonesian islands to the south of the Thai peninsula. The blades surfaces display a fine pamor.
The sheath is of typical form, also of well selected timbers and free from loss or damage.

A good old restorable Keris that is rarely seen.
