A good silver dressed Keris Pannjang.

An old blade of typical Aceh appearance and construction.
The blade is dressed in dark timbers and a two piece silver sleeve with repousse floral designs to one face and repeating diamond motifs to the reverse. Each silver face is bordered with a repeating leaf like motif.
As seen in the images, the silver dress has taken a few knocks over the years but remains present and intact.

Both the hulu and sampir have very minor losses as seen within the images. The cast silver pendokok shows a repeated leaf or petal like motif throughout.

The bottom third of the blade is thick and extremely robust and no flex to it. The remaining length tapers to a fine width with good supple flex, ideal for the purpose these headman's weapons were intended, being execution through the Clavicle and in to the heart.

A good honest old Sumatran Keris Panjang, a type that is becoming harder to find.
