A fine and complete Katana from the late 1600's.

The overall length of this sword is just over 90cms in the scabbard.
It is 85cms out with a blade length of 60cms to the Habaki and 63cms to the Tsuba. The hilt is 21.5cms long.
It retains very fine and original old fittings, all in an untouched, as found uncleaned state.
The ray skin beneath the bindings is of a very high quality and remains in very healthy condition. The binding is in fair condition with small breaks and losses.
The Tsuba is signed with reference to a provence in Japan.
The blade is in good condition, likely an original or antique polish. There are dark areas as seen in the images and a very small loss to the tip.
The lacquered scabbard retains its ensuite fittings and remains in very good condition.
